Digital Marketing Intern
The intern will learn how to optimize engagement on social media and elevate awareness of Aurore’s brand and work. The intern will also work with the management team to identify conferences, events, and media opportunities to advance our company initiatives.
Create marketing and communication campaigns, and develop strategies to increase engagement and online pre-sales.
Work with Aurore management to implement a 2-month marketing strategy.
Maintain Aurore’s social media presence on Facebook and Instagram.
Find creative ways to partner with digital influencers while on a tight budget.
Synthesize complex information into social media stories.
Use and leverage the power of storytelling to enhance Aurore’s brand across its social media platforms, website, newsletters, and blog.
Identify relevant marketing and communication trends.
Investigate marketing & media opportunities.
Monitor and report about relevant stories, news, field developments and key policies related to Aurore’s work to support and advance the business' strategies.
Provide support as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Demonstrated interest and experience in marketing and communication.
Coursework in marketing and communication a plus.
Highly proficient in social media.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong ability to meet deadlines.
Must be well organized, motivated, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work in a team setting and have the ability to work independently when projects are due.
Demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills.
Clear interest in social entrepreneurship, nonprofit work, human rights and civic action.
Thrives in a multicultural environment.
Seeking a 12 to 24 weeks commitment to work in Washington, DC from October 2019-March, 2020. Start and end dates are flexible. Part time (20 hours/week) and full time (35-40 hours/week) internship opportunities are available. Hours are flexible, but priority will be given to candidates who can dedicate a significant amount of time to the internship opportunity.
Note: This is an unpaid internship. We provide a $50 travel stipend monthly for part-time and $100 for full-time internship positions. As the social enterprise grows, we hope to take on the successful candidate into a paid role (based upon performance). We will offer a letter of recommendation upon satisfactory completion of the internship and will sponsor events and conferences attendance to promote your personal development.
